Romans 3:1-2
In the previous chapters, how many places did Paul mention both Jews and Gentiles at the same time?
Paul knew his Jewish readers would ask this question. It would be a valid question to raise after reading what Paul had written in the first two chapters.
What advantages was it to be a Jew? 犹太人有什么特别受到神祝福的地方？
1）神将律法交付他们（申命记4:8）
2）弥赛亚在这个民族出生
3）他们是与神立约的直接受益者（创17：1-16）

保罗是如何回答的？

Romans 3:3-4 （读Psalms 51：3-5）
Paul pointed out that though all Jews were circumcised outwardly, only some had circumcised hearts. Only some of the Jews were faithful to God. A Jew might ask “So, does that mean God was unfaithful to the Jews who are not faithful?” 保罗是如何回答的？

(Strong disagreement) if a certain Jew is not faithful to God, that is not God’s fault. 即便犹太人中有不信的，上帝的应许不会改变，他的心意也不会变。

Romans 3:5-8
If the darkness of my sin makes the brightness of God’s holiness a little brighter, then shouldn’t I sin all the more? 难道犹大的背叛是成全了神预备给我们的救恩吗？人做错事的时候，会找借口，不能把自己的不义看做是成全或彰显神的义。或者说我对你不义，但我反过来说如果我当时不这么做，你会有今天吗？人造就人。不是故意犯罪来彰显神的义，it is only inadvertently that sin ever brings glory to God.

Romans 3:9 Who’s the better sinner?
It is sin that keeps us from God, not race. 保罗是律师，这里就像法官一样宣布全人类都有罪。

Romans 3:10-18
Paul then proves that both Jew and Gentile have sinned by using Scripture, because Scripture is from God. 从这些经节可以看出人有哪些罪？(从头到尾)

都是偏离正路…犯了罪的人不寻找神，不走神指引的正路，偏要走歧途，不按顺性的用处使用世上之物，所以对神都是无益的。
没有行善的，连一个也没有…表示没有人所行的善能被神所认可，连一个也没有。
他们的喉咙是敞开的坟墓…形容心中的污秽通过喉咙和嘴发出，正如马太福音15:18-19所说，“惟独出口的，是从心里发出来的，这才污秽人”。
用舌头弄诡诈…指以言语犯的罪，奸诈的舌专作弄虚作假、损人利已的勾当。
嘴唇里有虺蛇的毒气…形容以言语伤人，象毒蛇毒害人一样。这些人恶言恶语论断诽谤别人，给人的心灵留下创伤
满口是咒骂苦毒 形容言语的过犯日甚，骂起人来毫不顾忌，毫无遮拦。
杀人流血他们的脚飞跑…表示他们干流血杀人的勾当
平安的路，他们未曾知道 罪的恶果之一，就是人心昏暗，不识平安光明之路，偏离正路。
他们眼中不怕神 不怕神是万罪之根源。罪蒙蔽了他们的心灵，使他们变恶毒残暴，表明这些人眼中已经没有神了。

Romans 3:19-20
The law’s intended purpose is not to save us but to show us our need for salvation. The law can only diagnose our sinfulness and the moral illness it produces, but it has no power to cure it. It shows us what is wrong but offering no solutions, like expired virus software. And all these are the same to both Jews and Gentiles. 靠律法不能除去罪。

Romans 3:21-26
亏缺是什么意思？fall short,达不到神的标准，
挽回祭是什么意思？（旧约中）
白白地称义 (Free Grace)
基督教的特点：神找人，其他宗教都是人找神。
宽容人先时所犯的罪，是从亚当开始的罪。Paid in full. 不是首期，没有installments
这就是神的整个救恩计划。

Romans 3:27-31
自问自答的形式。几次？保罗问了很多犹太人心中的疑问，
1）那犹太人有什么可以夸口的呢？保罗回答没有可夸的，因为人称义是因着信，不在乎遵行律法。
2）犹太人会问，神只做犹太人的神吗？不是，for both Jews and Gentiles.
3）旧约创17:13-14说如果不受割礼就背了神的约，但新约说不受割礼的也能称义，是不是就废弃了律法呢？保罗怎么说的？你是如何理解的？更是坚固律法。
犹太人认为是salvation came from observation of the law, so when Paul said it came through faith, Jews might asked, “well, but what good is the law then?”
马太福音5:17-18记：“莫想我来要废掉律法和先知；我来不是要废掉，乃是要成全。”“我实在告诉你们，就是到天地都废去了，律法的一点一画也不能废去，都要成全。”
